Rich's Vita

Industrial Ergonomics, Human Factors/Engineering Psychology, Safety Engineering, Biomechanics, Ergonomic Modeling and Ergonomic Survey tools, Occupational Safety and Health Standards and compliance.

Family : (pictures) Kim and I moved to Utah from Illinois by way of Georgia, Minnesota, and South Carolina. We have two children, Tony (9) and Anabel (4). Kim is a recreation therapist who is now a full time mother. She will return to graduate school when the children are both in full time school. We enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, and geocaching .

Work : My primary research interests include ergonomic modeling to estimate occupational risk factors and improved methods for ergonomic injury screening, particularly using vibrotactile testing methods.

Interests : Watching and wagering on collegiate sporting events (humiliation bets), fixing or repairing things that should probably be thrown away, getting a deal on anything (especially by haggling), making fun of BYU, playing basketball with students, and complaining.

B.A. Linguistics, 2009
Computational Linguistics
Family: Roanna and Dan met in 1986, married in 1994...and are living happily ever after. They have their hands full with two cats and the restoration of a 1928 Tudor.

Work: Roanna has worked with/for the E&S Program in some capacity since 1994. Currently she works 3/4 time and provides both grant/contract and administrative support for the program.

Interests: Roanna is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, with a minor in Computer Science. She is interested in the field of Computational Linguistics, which is concerned with the logical modeling of natural language by computers. She is also interested in environmental issues, donating her time and money to various causes, and hopes to promote awareness of these issues (especially in the E&S Office!).
