Final Selection and Support
As a part of Lab 8, I was asked to take the two designs that I had selected for the wire brackets and refine my selection to obtain the best bracket for the job. A selection matrix was again used to find out which of the two designs would be optimal for our solar car. After comparing the two brackets in the selection matrix side by side the wire bracket was selected over the hook bracket. The wire bracket won because it would be easier to manufacture if needed and was more compact then the eye hook bracket, which could stick out to far and pose problems with other part of the car.
Assembly Drawing
Below is and engineering drawing I made of the final wire bracket.
