Problem Statement
The University of Utah Solar Vehicle requires ventilation for the driver, battery boxes and electrical components. In order to meet the rules set by the American Solar Challenge, a ventilation system needed to be designed to bring outside air into the vehicle. This would allow the vehicle to run more efficiently and safely. Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) ducting would be used to carry the air to the battery boxes and driver. The main design uncertainty was how to interface the ducting with the outer shell of the vehicle. That interface is what this design project focused on.
