Below you will find a survey requesting your input on office hours and on requesting information on whether you intend to use ProE or SolidWorks this semester.
There will be other surveys conducted periodically throughout the semester.
Thanks for your input! Professor Provancher (A.K.A. Dr. P, A.K.A. wil)
Vote on TA office hours
Please vote below for the office hours that would work best for you. Even the available times in each of the voting groups below are the same, please vote only for at most three different times from the possible groupings of office hours listed below.
Be sure to look at the last pages of the schedule in the on the Syllabus to get an idea of when assignments will be due before voting.
Also keep in mind that one TA will be available in lab on Thursday (10:45-12:35). Both TAs will be in the lab on Friday (10:45-12:35). While the TAs will generally be involved with lab related activities, if they are not busy helping people with lab related items, you are welcome to ask them questions related to the wiki or course related material.

Vote on Dr. P’s office hours
Please vote below for the office hours that would work best for you. Dr. P will hold office hours directly after class on Monday and Wednesdays 11:35AM - 12PM. He will either be outside of class (EMCB105 or walking back to his office MEB2120).
Also keep in mind that Dr. P will be typically be giving lab lectures at the beginning of labs (though the TAs may give this lecture on Fridays). So another time you could catch Dr. P is directly after the lab lecture on Thursdays (and perhaps Friday) (Probably around 11:15 or 11:30). The TAs will be handling most of the CAD related questions, so he will leave shortly after lab lectures if there are no general questions.
Be sure to look at the last pages of the schedule in the on the Syllabus to get an idea of when assignments will be due before voting.
Please choose only 2 time slots (of the 3) time slots below (e.g. Monday Afternoon 2–3, Thursday Afternoon 3–4). Please click the time in each time slot that works best for you, and click “vote” (the page will reload each time you enter vote).

SolidWorks vs. ProE Wildfire 3
As mentioned in class, ProE WildFire 3 is the “official” CAD software of ME4000. However, I do allow you to complete lab assignments in SolidWorks provided you have access to the full version of Cosmos for performing Finite Element Analysis (Labs 9 & 11). Also, keep in mind that you would be voluntarily choosing to use SolidWorks without the expectation of having a TA be able to help you work through issues you may encounter in using SolidWorks (granted you will likely have few problems, and the TAs will help you if they can).
Please click which CAD package you intend to use, and click “vote”.
| ProE WildFire3 | . | (48/51%) |
| SolidWorks | . | (46/48%) |
