Yo Yo

As a team we decided on and chose topics for each team member. I have
selected to design the tensioner pulley mount for the idling pulley on the
gating belt.

With this design I need to take the following into consideration:
placement of mount and locations of other parts, adjustability of mount,
simplicity of design.

!!![[ShaneApproach | Summary of Approach:]]
First I considered the belt that we have from last year's team, and
studied its properties and capabilities and developed other limiting
criteria of the design. Then I brainstormed possible ideas and selected
two for analysis based on input from the team.

I performed the analysis of loads on the two selected designs. Then, I
used the results of the analysis to determine the best design.

Problem Statement:?

Yo Yo

As a team we decided on and chose topics for each team member. I have selected to design the tensioner pulley mount for the idling pulley on the gating belt.

With this design I need to take the following into consideration: placement of mount and locations of other parts, adjustability of mount, simplicity of design.

Summary of Approach:?

Summary of Results:?

I performed the analysis of loads on the two selected designs. Then, I used the results of the analysis to determine the best design.

Lessons Learned:?

1. How to determine limiting criteria for a design and apply them to brainstormed ideas to eliminate ineffective or impossible ideas.

2. How to analyze designs based on needs and requirements of the liminating criteria. Also, how to understand and use the analysis to select a final, most effective design.
