Problem Statement

Current skateboard design is limited in its capabilities to maneuver and stop. Obvious technical innovation is needed. The purpose of this team is to create the ultimate riding machine.

Project Summary

The Uberboard will provide a ride unlike any skateboard on the market today. It provides the rider with increased control, response, object avoidance, and stopping capabilities. The design will be lightweight and durable. The board responds to slight shifts in weight from side to side and forward to back by adjusting both the speed and angle of each wheel to optimize performance.\\\

Braking will be provided by a friction pad or gear assembly and will be activated by the riders movements. The wheels will also adjust for turning by leaning as the board leans on shock absorbing arms. The arms will also provide the rider to possibly hop over previously unavoidable hazards. This will be achieved by pushing down and loading the springs and then quickly jumping, causing the board to “pop” into the air under the rider and over the obstacle.

The Uberboard will be very adjustable in all aspects. A simple change in wheels and springs will give the board off-road capabilities, thus expanding its marketability.
