  9. To qualify for the BSME degree, all Mechanical Engineering students must pass the nationally composed and graded Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, offered twice yearly (in April and October). Information is available in the SSO. The FE should be taken at the earliest opportunity in the student’s senior year. Application must be submitted by February or August deadline. Application and testing deadlines vary each year. Check the form for current dates.
  10. All ME EN students must complete department General Education requirements.
  11. Satisfactory completion (C- or better) of prerequisites is required for enrollment in a given course.

Students must complete a minimum of 16 credit hours of general education courses. This number does not include the American Institutions requirement, or science, life science, language or personal development courses. One course in the areas of American Institutions, Fine Arts, Social/Behavioral Science, Diversity, and other general education courses approved by the department, must be an upper division course. There must be at least one sequence of courses (in which the second course builds on material developed in the first course), and one additional upper division course or one additional sequence.
