The Intervarsity Graduate Christian Fellowship group was a big part of my life at MIT. There were retreats, hikes, ski trips, socials, dinner groups, volleyball games, Friday night large group meetings, small group Bible studies ... through all of these things I grew in my faith and made a lot of great friends! I even met Steve through GCF. I was involved in leadership for a few years, and enjoyed planning socials and providing snacks. While in Boston, we attended Park Street Church, located on the Freedom Trail just off of the Boston Common.

This was the first GCF hike led by Steve. For the rest of us, it was our first fall at MIT. We are at the top of Mount Major in New Hampshire.

Liquid nitrogen ice cream was the perfect ending to our Midwestern (i.e. Minnesotan) GCF social! From left to right: Dave, Adam, Derrick, Joe, Paul, Tim.
At the 1997 fall retreat at Toah Nipi, we were instructed to carve a pumpkin that was representative of our school. We came up with this high tech cog pumpkin. We were quite disappointed when we lost the contest to a turtle pumpkin (what school made that one!?!). From left to right: Steve, Helene, Debbie, Jason.

My GCF dinner group (1999-2000) in the Green Hall kitchen. Ours was the only all-female group, and we really had a lot of fun! We were actually a breakfast/lunch group, not a dinner group. I think this was the only time all six of us were there. Back row: Christy, Cynthia, Inn. Front row: Me, Margery, Karyn.
This was me posing for a picture for the GCF leadership page. Why was I in the snack aisle of Star Market? Because I was the Snack Queen! When I had time, I baked snacks instead of buying them.
