Course Instructor
University of Utah &
Sirindhorn Int. Institute of Technology
My experience in teaching, as full course instructor, started
in 1991. Since that time, I have taught both quarter-length and semester-length
courses with occasional substitute lecturing. All together, I have accumulated
more that seven years of equivalent teaching experience at university
level.
Circumstances under which I have taught were:
- teaching mandatory lab course in solid mechanics;
- volunteering to teach summer courses;
- lecturing classes when regular professors had other businesses to attend to such as out of town conference, etc.;
- stepping in to teach larger portion of classes when regular professor was unable due to illness or unexpected added responsibilities;
- teaching courses when the ME department was unable to find instructors for
those courses; and
- teaching courses as part of an assistant professor duty.
Selected student comments from courses I had taught
"I liked how the teacher just came to the point with the formulas...stepped us through each problem...was available to help anytime he was needed"
"Pichai is pretty cool in class - very effective teaching and efficient prompt grading...he's concerned with students."
"Pichai was a great teacher - he really knew his stuff - even the slightly obscure questions were explained well. He teaches in a clear manner and explains things well."
