Project/Product Manager
Manage engineering teams servicing new and existing customers. The following are some of the duties I have performed as a project manager.
- Plan and direct operations of an engineering team to achieve company objectives.
- Continually monitor and improve production yield and quality in a timely manner.
- Help in recruitment and development of personnel to ensure competency and continuity.
- Coordinate with internal and external supporting groups to ensure smooth operation.
- Assign, coordinate, and review work performed by the team members.
- Plan and control budget and expenditure within the product line.
- Ensure conformance to applicable governmental, company, and standard governing body regulations.
- Participate in new business development.
- Consult and negotiate with customers to develop mutually agreeable and achievable objectives.
- Continually monitor customer expectations and satisfaction level
My accomplishments as a manager to date:
- Turn around a money losing operation into a profitable one by more realistically reassessing project status and initiating a contract renegotiation.
- Initiate product reviews for rightsizing of personnel resources and other cost control measures.
- Eliminate a non-viable product line and phased out another dead-ended product.
- Initiate a transition to a new costing model to be applied to new and existing customers in order to ensure profitability.
- Plan and form engineering teams servicing new products.
