Career Portfolio-Accomplishments in Industry

Many technical discussions with potential customers start with Microsystems Packaging Technology Services (MPTS) group that I am leading. MPTS fields questions from all stages of product development from conceptual design phase to ready for manufacturing phase. The scope of the consultations can be any where from initial inquiry on design, process, and capability to a big project such as transferring of an entire manufacturing facility.

To date, my engineering team has taken part in working with customers or potential customers on optoelectronic and MEMS products for telecommunication, data communication, and automotive applications. These customers consist of a wide range of companies from start-ups to well established players in their particular industries. The type of products discussed ranges from high-end optical subassemblies to high-volume, consumer oriented automotive products.

Duties that I have performed to date:

Represent the company as a technical consultant at a tradeshow.
Participate in new product discussions with potential customers.
Conduct "Design for Manufacturing" review of products from potential customers.
Visit customer sites to assess the products and manufacturing operations to be transferred.
Outline manufacturing process to be developed or transferred.
Act as a liaison among customers, engineering teams, and other support teams within the company.
Report on the suitability and feasibility of proposed partnerships.
Estimate initial processes and resources for quotation purposes.
Plan and procure necessary resources in anticipation of new product introductions.
