I am a mechanical engineer + software geek !! I am almost done with my Masters in Computer Aided Design, at the prestigious 'University of Utah', Salt Lake City.

I love engineering and software development - more so because most of my fellow mechanical engineers hate programming...because its hard. Always, the tougher it is, the more interesting it gets for me..well...except baking...at which I fail miserably everytime I try baking brownies...Maybe I will master that someday too!.

Snowboarding is something I picked up from my advisor Dr Eberhard Bamberg. I had never snowboarded untill last winter, and I got pretty good at it !..atleast thats what my advisor says...as I did better than all my labmates...I am definitely doing it again this winter and I think that my dream of extreme snowboarding and "Heliboarding" like my advisor will not be far away..

I am working under my advisor on building a completely new CAD software CoM-SiM (on .NET), called "Conceptual Machine Design Simplification Modeler", which aims at setting up quick and simple mechanical designs or "sketches". Using the simple but very powerful tools provided by the program, 3D sketches can be created much faster than any popular CAD software around. The file format is easily readable by ANSYS and ALGOR, which import the sketch easily to perform any mechanical analysis on the structure.
