SEATTLE, Wash., Feb. 8, 2013 – Lynne Thompson, vice president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ Product Support Engineering, was recently named an Associate Fellow by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Thompson was recognized for her years of dedicated service to the field of engineering and work in the aerospace industry during the AIAA Aerospace Sciences meeting in Grapevine, Texas.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized with this award,” said Thompson, who has worked at Boeing for 25 years.

Thompson works with a team of more than 2,500 engineers who provide support to more than 13,000 Boeing airplanes, including the Boeing operations center, field service and flight operations and maintenance engineering. The team is focused on being responsive, predictive and proactive to allow airplanes to fly safely, efficiently and meet stringent compliance standards.

Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah in 1987 and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 1993.
