Dr. Sheila Edalatpour has accepted an offer to join the faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Maine. Congratulations Sheila!
Sheila earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Birjand University, a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, and her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Mathieu Francoeur. At the University of Utah, Sheila conducted graduate research in the Radiative Energy Transfer Lab, where her work was devoted to numerical modeling of near-field thermal radiation in three-dimensional complex geometries and the analysis of near-field thermal radiation interactions between micro/nanostructures and a surface.
During her time at Utah, Sheila produced 17 publications and presentations, including 5 journal papers. Her most recent work on near-field radiative heat transfer between arbitrarily shaped objects and a surface has been accepted in June 2016 for publication in Physical Review B.
